As we all know, Hillary Clinton’s book which tells the behind the scenes story of her Presidential election campaign, is titled “What Happened.” It seems that everyone, including the Democrats, knows what happened, except Hillary.
Donald J. Trump happened!
But that’s a pretty simple answer, and we can look a little deeper for an equally simple explanation. Even many of the higher ranking Democrats put it simply. People don’t like or trust Hillary.
Now, let’s take a look at a Tweet Hillary sent out earlier today, and we’ll be able to show exactly what’s going on with the likability thing and pretty much exactly why she lost the election.
Wow. I wasn’t sure how letting my guard down would go…but it’s been cathartic & rewarding. I loved writing this book, & I’m honored to be in such great company on this list!https://t.co/rAYpWHzxrJ

Um, how many of you even know what the word “cathartic” means?
Exactly, and that’s the point!
Okay, just so you’ll know, “cathartic” means “providing psychological relief through the open expression of strong emotions,” and to be honest with you, THIS writer, who reads half a dozen books a month and writes upwards of 5,000 words a day, and has for years, had to Google it.
You probably don’t like him, because he’s extremely liberal, but Stephen King knows a little something about writing. He’s sold more books than any other writer in history. Second place is Charles Dickens, and King has sold more than twice as many books as him!
In King’s book “On Writing,” in which he shares everything he knows about writing (almost everything), he clearly states that any word that you need a thesaurus to understand is the wrong word to use.
King has an English Lit. degree and is a master of the language, but he understands that his readers are everyday, ordinary folks, who probably never use the word “cathartic,” hence he never uses words like that in his works.
Now, what does this have to do with Hillary and why she lost the election? The overwhelming majority of Americans are hard working, middle class, moderately educated people, who are STILL very intelligent, but simply don’t communicate the way in which Hillary attempts to communicate. Sure, her language might be appropriate for the intellectually elite who work at Universities, but they make up only a very small percentage of our population.
When President Trump was campaigning, he often referenced his Ivy League degree, but said he didn’t like using big words, because no one knew what they meant. It’s why he often used the word “stupid” when describing the previous administration. We all knew exactly what he meant. It didn’t take a big, fifty dollar word, and he didn’t use such words. He was able to make a connection with middle America by choosing not to talk over their heads, though he very easily could have, despite what most liberals think.
Hillary’s biggest mistake, aside from all the scandals and dishonesty, was that she simply never made a connection with middle class America, what Benjamin Franklin referred to as “the middlers.” And folks, that’s were the life and blood of America exists, and that’s where elections are lost or won.
